Plastic / Ramming
Overview
Plastic/Ramming refractories are ready-to-mix products in which clay chemical binders are added to refractory aggregates such as chrome, chamotte, and alumina, and can be installed using the RAMMING / GUNNING application method.
Plastic/Ramming refractories are classified according to the workability index of ASTM C181. If the workability is 15% or more, they are classified as plastics, and if the workability is less than 15%, they are classified as ramming refractories.
