Overview

EDC Cracker is a facility that pyrolyzes Ethylene Dichloride (EDC/ethylene dichloride) to produce Vinyl Chloride Monomer (VCM/vinyl chloride), like most of petrochemical crackers, it consists of a Radiant Zone and a Convection Zone.

Although the temperature inside the radiating part is not high, since the number of wall burners installed on the wall is relatively large compared to other crackers, serious deterioration damage may occur to the refractory materials around the burner directly/indirectly exposed to the Burner flame. In the vicinity of the burner, it is particularly important to select a refractory material with excellent thermal shock resistance and hot strength.
